Designer of mobile sculptures
An artist inspired by movement
Christel Sadde, born in 1968,is a creator of mobile sculptures and contemporary stabiles. She lives and works in Paris.
Driven by an authentic artistic approach and her talents as a graphic designer, she designs her own mobiles inspired by kinetic art and geometric abstraction.
She designs and experiments with each ofher creations which are perceived both as prestigious decorative objects and works of art.
Her mobile sculptures and her large XXL mobiles are today referred to as Volabiles.
In 2003, on the presentation of 2 prototypes, the Sentou gallery in Paris launched the first order for 50 mobiles. The press took interest in these novel creations, and the Volabile’s reputation was made…
FROM A TRADITIONAL TO AN ART SCULPTURE
The creations based on the idea of the “culbuto” self-righting to are for Christel a continuation of her research work on balance and the simplicity of geometric forms in space.
She wanted to create a sculpture from a traditional toy
Simple: only one shape used, “the sphere”, both 3-Dandflat.
Elegant: through the use of brushed satin brass and natural leather
Interactive: as a surprise, sound has been added to movement there.
The technical aspects of the culbuto were made possible by Marc Miniussi, an ingenious sculptor.
