Lives and works in Connecticut, USA
Born and raised in Johannesburg, Lauren Kaplan was exposed to her grandfather’s creative painting and sculpting at an early age. She has been creating ceramics for over thirty years, drawing some of her inspiration from the African savannah and wildlife.
Even when living in Europe or the US, her roots remain a powerful influence on her work. Lauren also has a creative background in architecture and interior design. She designs each of her pieces with architecture in mind, hence her strong taste for clean lines and geometric shapes. Her creativity is abundant and her style is constantly evolving.
Lauren Kaplan’s ceramics can be found in numerous public and private collections and are currently on display in Cape Town, Paris and the United States.
A member of the Silvermine Guild Arts Center, Lauren divides her time between Westport, Connecticut and Cape Town, South Africa.
